Quote of the day

" Those who read to accumulate knowledge without putting to practice what they have learnt are like donkeys carrying a load of books "

So true.

Unexpected things.

There are many things in this world that we expect to happen, and many things that we don't.

And when the things that we expect doesn't happen, we disappoint ourselves.

But what happens when we get something we don't expect?..

How do we react to that? Naturally, one would react with either one of the extreme reactions, they would be either really happy or really ... disappointed. (As would be the same outcome for what would happen if we get what we expected).

But it's an amazing feeling though. Getting what you've always wanted, but in an unexpected way. It's like .... finding an amazing treasure that you've always wanted and pursued for years, and in the end, it unexpectedly turns up to have been always right in front of you. It's ... truly intriguing and unexpected. But. It's fantastic.

And in a way, I thank God for making things work that way, because I can truly appreciate what I get through unexpected events.

Nikolai.

Tennis. Beer. Sleep. Thirsty.

Tennis: Today I worked at the Australian Open. Woke up at 7. Did my things. Ate at 8. Mmmm avocado and half boiled eggs on toast.. Fell into a sleepy daze at 8.30 - 9. Was driven to the station, where I was 5 minutes early before the train! Suh-weet! Went into a sort of a sleepy daze again, and time flew rather quickly. Walked to the stadium. Changed clothes, etc. Then. Then. THEN I WAS STUCK WAITING ON A BENCH FOR 1 HOUR. GAH. lol. Was given the shittiest directions to my outlet and due to that I was wandering around aimlessly whilst being burnt alive and possibly turning into an African. (no offense!) Found my bloody outlet after 20 minutes. Then was chucked to the outlet opposite cos I was good with my beer handling. Then worked with a tall dude called Nicky and we did pretty well as a team. Hoorah!. Lol, I made some rather disappointing mistakes whilst on the cashier, due to me just randomly forgetting people's orders as soon as they paid for their drinks.... How embarassing. Ah well. They laughed about it, so it was aalllllllll good. Within a few hours in the hot tent I worked at, I was relieved of my registering duties and was promoted to awesome fridge stocking duties. Which felt like HEAVEN due to me having to keep returning to the fridge to pick up the drinks. Yaaaayy.

Beer: Seeing to much of beer can really affect a man's mind. Mind especially. During work, each cup of Heineken beer I poured made me even more thirstier throughout work. At the end of my shift, I swear I was just a tad bit intoxicated. Lol. Well not really.

Sleep: Sleep. is. AWESOME. I so needed some today. And I think I will for the next few days after worrrrrrrrk.

Thirsty: I've been rather parched since after work. Drinking as much water as I can but it's not really helping.

I'm kinda happy that I finished work a bit early today, because I got to get my sleep. And I get to talk to ... friends late at night tonight :).

Take it easy guys,
Nikolai

Wow.

It's amazing.

Right now I'm sitting by Khai's porch, under the shade of the palm trees and the other tall, thin and leafy trees. I noticed and realized how AMAZING plants and life and everything in this world is ... if I looked at it from a Biological students perspective.

Where did this come about?... You ask.

Here's the story.

I looked at the ferns below me and realised that it was a different species compared to the one back home (obviously so)... Thinking back to the Biological aspects of diversity and adaptation I've realized that we could apply this NATURAL law to practically anything! ..

Even ourselves.

Everything in this world is so diverse, different, a species of it's own, even though when you look back far enough, we all come from the same origin. Everything plays a role in this world. We change to our sorroundings, we adapt and then we 'become'.

But being humans ... we have the choice and the ability to change our 'set' mind to become better, to become fitter in a sense. That's whats amazing. We are here for a reason. This world is truly our oyster. Our treasure is already in front of us. Our life is really our lesson. Our world is our teacher. The aspects and order in life in the natural world is what we should strive to protect. Because that is our way and our road to discovering our true selves. Life ... the world ... it is all but wrong, coincidental or chaotic. We are here in this world to find outselves. And nature is the key to that.

(Alright I realize that I kinda went off topic here but meh)

The animals, insects, bacterias, trees, rocks, mountains, nature's force... everything that is natural in this world, they all reflect a lesson for us to meditate on, they can teach us humans to understand ourselves even more.

Although that rant sounded spiritual of me, I just realized that I have a long way to go in terms of being a better self... because an ant crawled onto my arm and I instinctively crushed it and flicked it away.

Sigh.

The Mystery of the History.

The Mystery of the history of a person.

That's an aspect of a human that makes them who they are.

Therefore ... we shouldn't look at an individual and judge them from their recent actions...

But we should understand that the person only acted so because of their mysterious history.

Elephants.

Today I rode on an elephant.
Not a big deal to some. Means nothing to most. But, wanna know what I think of it?.

It's.

frucking.

Amazing.

That darn animal was fantastic. The eyes, it was so .. aware. If anyone can't see the intelligence behind that eyes then they should have been able to see it through it's mighty fine motor skills with it's nose.

Ahhh. I wanna type alot. But i'll type more on that later.

My Grandfathers.

"Are any of your grandparents still alive?" - L.T
"No, all three are gone."
"You mean two." - L.T
"No... three."

Had a conversation with my cousins, B.K and L.T about their grandfather's recent death. They then asked me about my grandfathers, and enquired if any of them are still alive, excluding the same grandfather we share.

I felt a pang in my heart, during the conversation. It was the old familiar pain I feel, each time I remember my step granfather (mother's side) and my grandad (dad's). It still hurts. Talking about the two I knew. My heart does ache at the very thought of them. Even speaking about them will effectively bring my energy down for a bit.

I miss them.

But, I know that I will meet them again..One day.
